I dont own a v975i but onda says that this update solves the battery display status.

Of course updating to this version allows you to change to any language you want.

Can anybody tell me how to do the update exactly?

Maybe step by step?

While we all wait for other v975i device owners remarks and reviews.

This may be helpful : " markosgt " post from v819i thread,

Yep, following the steps as suggested by RobV work well. I updated to v1.05 yesterday, and apart from having to change the language back to english and reloading all my apps and settings, there is no problem. I think the battery issue is fixed, it seems to be at this stage.

I'm just looking forward to being able to root so I can install a custom ROM once they become available. Can't wait to be able to get rid of all those crappy apps that I have no idea what they do.

Did you try vroot for rooting? There is a thread on xda. And do have some problems with the brightness of the screen (somtimes it gets darker without no reason)? Someone on slatedroid mentioned that who has v1.05.

Thanks Nemesis, I'll look into vroot. I think there's an issue with having one of the first intel android devices, and that is, nobody has done much with/for them at this stage. And no, I haven't noticed any change in the brightness of the screen.

Hi all,

just wanted to update everyone on my quest to get root... vroot doesn't work, in fact, it appears to do diddly. So, I'm still on the lookout to find a way to root an intel android tablet.

Hi Adam!

Thank you very much for your effort. After your Info I searched a bit. I found a thread on xda about the teclast x98. It seems to have the same hardware as the 975i (except for the display. The 975i seems to have a better one) A user called cycojesus wrote a short script for rooting the device. Unfortunately you must have a linux terminal to execute the commandlines. If you have the opportunity to test it, give it a try. Perhaps it works. Here is the link for the script: github.com/cycojesus/teclast_x98-3g

Thanks Nemesis, I'll see what I can do with it. I've also found people with the teclast (telcast?) and instructions for rooting... I've been vary wary though, don't want to bugger it up...

Hi all, I have attempted to get root with SRS Root and Cydia Impactor. Neither of these worked. I'll keep looking. If anyone else has had any luck, please let us all know. Thanks.

Okay, I've rooted it. Thanks to gabri85 on the v819i forum. Here's what he did... and it worked like a charm... woohoo!!!

I've found a working method to root our tablets updated to v1.0.3, just download the following file:

https://mega.co.nz/#...E7frDaeYPthnsIw

Flash it with the "Update" app that can be found in the app grid, selecting "Local Update".

Enjoy it   :)
