Dear all,

Here is the fifth version of my custom ROM based on Onda's release 1.1.0 for V975m.

ROM Features

- Based on ONDA's official 1.1.0 release.
- No chinese apps.
- Properly rooted with Chainfire's SuperSU 1.94.
- Default language is en_US
- Default timezone is Europe/Athens.
- Updated google apps from bundle gapps-jb-20130813-signed (from goo.im).
- 4GB /data partition (the space you install your apps in), from 2GB original.
- Removed ONDA default launcher and replaced it with NovaLauncher.
- Skype version 3.2.0.6673
- Disabled 3G layer to save battery. If you need to use a 3G USB stick, then change in build.prop the property hw.nophone=true to hw.nophone=false.
- Disabled OTA upgrade (by changing the update host to 127.0.0.1).

Installation instructions

Case A - Upgrade install

If your tablet has already 4GB /data partition (meaning your are already running one of my roms), then follow this procedure for the upgrade:

Follow this steps exactly:

1- Extract the .rar file of the ROM. You will get these files:
aml_autoscript
factory_update_param.aml
recovery.img
u-boot.bin
update.zip
2- Put an SD card of size up to 16GB in card reader.

3- Format the SD card with SDFormatter version 4 (hint: run this program as administrator).
You can download it from here: http://www.ondaforum.com/topic/148-sd-formatter-40-for-sdsdhcsdxc/

4- From the files you extracted in step 1 copy ONLY these files to SD card:
factory_update_param.aml
update.zip

5- Safely remove the SD card from the computer (Very important!).

6- Power off the tablet by pressing <Power> button for 20 seconds.

7- Put the SD card into the tablet's card slot.

8- Press simultaneously AND HOLD the buttons <Power> and <Volume +>.

9- When the green droid appears (or after about 5 seconds if no droid appears) release ONLY <Power> button. Keep pressing <Volume+>.

10- After about 1-3 minutes you will see the big droid with the spinning cube. Now release the <Volume+> button.

11- When the update finishes, the tablet will reboot. As soon as you see the ONDA logo, you are in business.

Case B - Clean install

If your tablet has 2GB /data partition (meaning your are NOT running one of my roms), then follow this procedure for the upgrade:

recovery.img
u-boot.bin
update.zip

You can download it from here: http://www.ondaforum.com/topic/29-sd-card-maker/
IMPORTANT: Select the u-boot.bin from the ROM you extracted in step 1.
Format the card when asked to by the SDcardMaker_uboot. Format must be FAT32 with 32KB cluster size.

Check in build.prop the entries for:

ro.product.name

ro.product.device

ro.product.board

ro.build.product

ro.build.description

ro.build.fingerprint

V1 is k12_MA975M8

V3 is k12_MA975M8_B

The installation script checks for these values.

Now, if flash works, you do not need the patch. If it fails, then you do need it.

For the kernel I do not know. It is the stock ONDA kernel.

Bysubox is installed (actually pre-installed by ONDA).

Dear all,

I have a onda V975m but i don't know which version.

I have tried to update to the official onda rom. But i have received these messages:

For the 1.0.9 rom:

No file_contextsassert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "k12_MA975M8" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "k12_MA975M8"

For the kitkat beta:

Warning No file_contextsThis package is for "k12_MA975M8" devices; this is a "fiber-ondama975q92035"

Do you know if I have to use the patch or If i can't update my tablet.

Many thanks

Sergio

Look at the serial number printed in the back of your tablet. If the 9th and 10th characters are V1 then you have V1 hardware. If they are V3 then you have V3 hardware.

Flash the 1.0.9 version for YOUR hardware.

You can also flash one of my roms, for YOUR hardware.

I have tried to install the v3 version of your rom and i got this message:

No file_contextsassert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "k12_MA975M8_B" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "k12_MA975M8_B"

After i have tried also to install your patch and reinstall your rom, but i got the same message.

Do you have some ideas?

Can you install a prop editor and tell us these values from /system/build.prop?

ro.product.device

ro.build.product

Or install DeviceInfo from market and tell us the board, device and model it shows.

Finaly, do you know which rom is now installed in your device?

I'm afraid you should contact your reseller. This is completely strange.

Anyone else with the 16GB version, can tell us the device name he sees in DeviceInfo?

Your tablet is NOT a V975m. It is a V975.

These roms are NOT suitable for your tablet!

Enr1988 All of that stuff (setcpu etc) won't work. From what I know/understand, kernel doesn't allow it.
